Students gain exposure to the careers of the future as they discover how engineers are using computer science and robotics. Tours range from learning how engineers are bringing voice artificial intelligence (Amazon’s Alexa) and video collaboration to deep space to using robotics to help deliver customer orders safely and efficiently.

Our 45 min to 1 hour tours are aligned to Next Generation Science (NGSS) and CSTA K-12 Computer Science Standards. The Teacher Toolkits include a facilitation guide, worksheets, and other resources to support learning during the tours.

Frequently Asked Questions

What will my class see on the tours?

On the Fulfillment Center tour, you will learn how computer science and robotics along with incredible people work together to fulfill customer orders at Amazon. Students follow the process from order to delivery. On the Callisto: Space Innovation Tour, students learn about how engineers communicate with spacecraft using the Deep Space Network, and how new deep space technologies experiments from Amazon, Lockheed Martin, and Webex are being tested in space. How long is the tour?

Each tour has an option for a full tour (45 min to 1 hour) to be taken in one sitting or a split tour (each part taking 25-30 min) to be taken over multiple days.

Are the tours live?

The Fulfillment Center Tour has a live virtual tour that includes a live Q&A with tour leaders. Registration for live virtual tours can be found at https://amazontours.com/na/virtual/afe. The Fullfillment Center Tour and all other tours are also available on Kahoot! to play at your convenience.

What grade levels can attend?

The live virtual Fulfillment Center Tour is built for grades 4+. The Kahoot! Fullfillment Center Tours are differentiated for grades K-5 and Grades 6+. Callisto: Space Innovations Tour is appropriate for grades 4+.

What student data is collected?

We do not collect personal student information on either tour. If a teacher does have a Kahoot! accounts, they can assign the tour to their students to track their students’ progress, but individuals’ information is not shared with Amazon.

How much does this cost?

The tours, and all materials included in the accompanying Teacher Toolkit, are provided to teachers at no cost.

Can individual students sign up by themselves, independent of a class?

Yes, absolutely. Students can also play the Kahoot! version of the tour on their own.
