If chosen, you will receive an all expenses paid trip from Amazon to Houston, TX to visit Johnson Space Center and help test the Callisto Payload as it’s in-flight on its journey around the Moon. While the date of the Artemis I launch is still to be confirmed by NASA, the mission is currently planned for September through October 2022. Once dates have been confirmed by NASA, Amazon will contact the selected winners to communicate next steps and logistics.

Amazon Alexa Virtual Crewmember Contest
OFFICIAL RULES
Please read these rules before entering the Amazon Alexa Virtual Crewmember Contest (the “Contest”). By submitting an entry, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor and the judges, and that you and your entry into the Contest satisfy all eligibility requirements.
ELIGIBILITY.
Open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are (i) 21 years of age or older at the time of entry; and (ii) members of the Amazon Teacher Advisory Council for STEM teachers from the 2019-2020, 2020-2021, or 2021-2022 school year. Entrants may not be members of any guild, union or other organization that may prohibit them from participating in this Contest and that would restrict, require dues payment or otherwise have the right to oppose such entrant’s participation in this Contest. This Contest is not open to employees or independent contractors, or immediate family members (spouses, domestic partners, parents, grandparents, siblings, children, and grandchildren) or those living in the same household of employees or independent contractors of Amazon.com Services LLC (“Sponsor”), or any entity involved in any aspect of the Contest (including funding, judging or administration), and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, advisors, or advertising/promotion agencies. Void where prohibited.
HOW TO ENTER.
Contest entry period begins at 12:00:01 a.m. Pacific Time (“PT”) on Friday, July 1, 2022 and ends at 11:59:00 p.m. PT on Friday, July 22,2022 (the “Entry Period”).
During the Entry Period, prepare a video no longer than three (3) minutes in length that answers the following questions; (i) why would you want to visit the Johnson Space Center and help test the Callisto Payload? (ii) What would you want to virtually ask Alexa onboard the spacecraft? (iii) What inspirational message would you want to send out to the universe? Then, visit https://amazoncorporate.box.com/s/6wj3mx07hie8rmluvltcer1c40o4qykr (the “Website”) and follow the instructions below to upload your video (the “Entry”).

Limit one (1) Entry per person throughout the Entry Period.
Sponsor’s (or its contractor’s) servers and clock shall be deemed the official clock for all phases of the Contest, and your proof of submitting an Entry does not constitute proof of receipt by Sponsor. Sponsor is not responsible for (i) lost, misdirected, late, incomplete, or unintelligible Entries or for inaccurate Entry information, whether caused by you or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest, or by any technical or human error that may occur in the processing of Entries; or (ii) any printing, production, human or typographical errors in any materials associated with the Contest.
Sponsor reserves the right in its sole and unfettered discretion to disqualify at any time any Entry containing obscene, offensive, pornographic or sexually explicit material, or libelous, disparaging, infringing or other inappropriate content or subject matter (as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion). Entry must be suitable for family viewing on a national news network, meet the content guidelines found at www.amazon.com/contentguidelines, and meet other reasonable community standards.
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY.
All Entries must be the original creations of the entrants, and by submitting an Entry, each entrant grants to Sponsor the worldwide, transferable, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, and fully sublicensable right to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, and display the Entry throughout the world in perpetuity in any media (whether now known or hereafter devised).
By submitting an Entry, each entrant represents and warrants that (a) his/her Entry is his/her original creation; (b) his/her Entry has not been copied or derived in whole or in part from any other work; (c) his/her Entry does not violate or infringe any copyright, trademark, privacy or publicity right, or other personal, proprietary, or intellectual property right of any person or entity; (d) his/her Entry is not defamatory, libelous, obscene, or otherwise illegal; (e) his/her Entry is the sole and exclusive property of the entrant; (f) he/she has complete, worldwide distribution rights for his/her Entry; and (g) he/she has received the written consent of any person (or parent or legal guardian if such person is a minor) who is referenced in the Entry. Failure to obtain or provide such consent will disqualify the Entry. Sponsor may at any time during the Contest request proof of such consent and disqualify any Entry for which such consent cannot be provided. Sponsor may disqualify any entrant whose Entry Sponsor determines, in its sole discretion, at any time not to comply with any requirement described in these Official Rules or the foregoing representations and warranties.
Entrants agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sponsor, and any entity involved in any aspect of the Contest (including funding, judging, provision of the prize or administration), and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, contractors, advisors, and advertising/promotion agencies, and each of the foregoing entity’s respective officers, members, directors, shareholders, employees, agents, representatives and associates, (collectively, the “Released Parties”), for any action or claim brought by a person whose consent entrant did not obtain. Without limiting any other grant contemplated in these Official Rules, Entry, along with the entrant’s name and/or likeness may be posted on any website owned and/or operated by Sponsor or any of its affiliates (“Sponsor Site”), Sponsor’s pages on any social media websites, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, TikTok, and any other website or other online point of presence through which any products or services available on or through the Sponsor Site are described, syndicated, offered, merchandised, or advertised, in Sponsor’s sole discretion. Sponsor’s decision to post an Entry on any Sponsor Site does not mean that the applicable Entry has been selected as the winning Entry.
PRIZES.
We will award three (3) Grand Prizes, one (1) per eligible Amazon Teacher Advisory Council cohort (2019-2020, 2020-2021, and 2021-2022). Each Grand Prize consists of a trip for winner to the Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX where winner will have the opportunity to help test the Callisto Payload as it’s in-flight on its journey around the Moon. Trip consists of roundtrip, coach class air transportation from a major U.S. gateway airport near winner’s residence to Houston, TX, two (2) days and one (1) night standard hotel accommodations (one room, single occupancy), transportation to and from the Johnson Space Center, a $200 food stipend (awarded in the form of a check), ground transportation while on trip, and airport parking at a major U.S. gateway airport near winner’s residence. If winner resides within a 100-mile radius of destination, ground transportation will be provided in lieu of air transportation and no compensation or substitution will be provided in lieu thereof. Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”): $1,050.00. Actual value may vary based on point of departure. Any difference between stated value and actual value will not be awarded. Trip must be taken on dates specified by Sponsor (tentatively scheduled for Fall, 2022) or prize will be forfeited and Sponsor will have no further obligation to such winner. Sponsor reserves right to change dates. Travel will be made through Sponsor’s agent, on a carrier of Sponsor’s choice. Certain travel restrictions may apply. All federal, state and local taxes and all other costs associated with prize acceptance and use not specified herein as being provided are the sole responsibility of the winners.
Prize Conditions.
Prizes will be fulfilled by Sponsor. If you are selected as a potential winner, Sponsor will use the information you submit in connection with this Contest to notify you about the prize. The potential winners will be required to notify Sponsor within five (5) business days from notification, and to sign and return electronically an Affidavit of Eligibility; Liability and Publicity Release or other such form as requested by Sponsor within seven (7) days from date of initial notification. Prior to awarding the prize, Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, require a potential winner to sign such additional documents Sponsor decides are necessary to confirm eligibility, to obtain a liability/publicity release, and to award any prize. Failure to return any required document by the date requested by Sponsor will deem the winner as ineligible to receive the prize. If any documentation is not returned by the specified dates and times or if the potential winner is deemed ineligible prior to the prize being awarded, Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, award the prize to the entrant who submitted the next highest scoring Entry. Winners will be required to submit his/her social security number to Sponsor for tax purposes in order to claim the prize. The total ARV of all three (3) Grand Prizes is $3,150.00.
Winners will be responsible for paying all costs and expenses related to the prize that are not specifically mentioned herein, including but not limited to, federal, state and local income taxes, alcoholic beverages, and any other expenses that might reasonably be incurred by winner in receiving or using the prize.
The ARV provided represents Sponsor’s good faith determination. That determination is final and binding and cannot be appealed. If a potential winner is unable to participate in the prize during the dates specified, the prize may be forfeited and Sponsor may select an alternative potential winner for the prize. Winner must comply with all Event rules and regulations. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of such portion of prize. Upon any prize forfeiture, no compensation will be given.
Contest Entities are not responsible for any cancellations, delays, diversions or substitution, or any act or omissions whatsoever by prize providers, or any other persons providing any prize-related services. Admission tickets are subject to certain terms and conditions. Lost, stolen, or damaged admission tickets will not be replaced or exchanged. All portions of the prize are subject to availability and change and are at the sole discretion of Sponsor. Winner and guest must comply with all venue rules and regulations. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of such portion of prize.
In the event the Callisto Payload space flight event is postponed, Sponsor reserves the right in their sole discretion to revise the dates consistent with the revised Callisto Payload space flight event date. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize (or any portion thereof) with an item of comparable or greater value, in its sole discretion. All prizes will be awarded “AS IS” and WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, express or implied (including, without limitation, any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose).
JUDGING.
All eligible Entries received by Sponsor during the Entry Period will be judged by a panel of qualified judges utilizing the following criteria: (a) creativity of Entry; (b) quality of Entry; and (c) adherence to Contest theme, (collectively, the “Judging Criteria”). The one (1) Entry per eligible Amazon Teacher Advisory Council cohort receiving the highest total score will be deemed a potential Grand Prize “Winner”. In the event of a tie, the tied Entries will be judged by a separate judging panel, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, based solely on the Entry’s composition. In the event a potential Winner’s Entry is disqualified, the entrant who submitted the next highest scoring Entry for the applicable school year will be deemed the potential Winner, and must comply with the requirements in these Official Rules. All decisions of the Sponsor and judges are final and binding.
ADDITIONAL TERMS.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to change these rules or cancel the Contest at any time, or to modify, terminate, or suspend the Contest should viruses, worms, bugs, unauthorized human intervention, or other causes beyond Sponsor’s control corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness, or proper play of the Contest or submission of Entries. In the event the Contest is terminated, Sponsor reserves the right to determine the potential winners from among all Entries received prior to such date and time of termination using the Judging Criteria identified above. Sponsor is not responsible for any human or other error that may occur in the processing of the Entries, nor is it responsible for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, theft or destruction, or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, Entries, or for technical, network, telephone, computer, hardware or software, malfunctions of any kind, or inaccurate transmission of, or failure to receive any entry information on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website. Sponsor is not responsible for injury or damage to any entrant’s computer or any other device resulting from downloading any materials in connection with the Contest. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual found to be tampering with the entry process, the outcome of the Contest, or the operation of the Contest or website; to be acting in violation of these rules; or to be acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass any other person. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY ANY INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS, AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR AND ITS AFFILIATES RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES AND/OR OTHER RELIEF FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

The Contest and all accompanying materials are copyright © 2022 by Amazon.com Services LLC. All rights reserved. By entering, entrants agree to be bound by these rules. No transfer, assignment, cash redemption, or substitution of prizes is permitted except by Sponsor due to prize availability and then with prizes of equal or greater value.
Each entrant agrees (for themselves and their heirs) that the Released Parties will have no liability, and will be held harmless by such entrant to the maximum extent permitted by law for any liability, loss, injury, or damage to property or to person, including death, and reasonable attorney’s fees and court costs, due in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, by reason of participation in the Contest, or by reason of the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of the prize (including any travel/activity related thereto), even if caused or contributed to by the negligence of any of the Released Parties. Contest is governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Washington. As a condition of participating in this Contest, entrants agree that any and all disputes which cannot be resolved between the parties, and causes of action arising out of or in connection with this Contest, will be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, exclusively before a court located in King County, Washington having jurisdiction. Further, in any such dispute, under no circumstances will entrants be permitted to obtain awards for, and hereby waive all rights to claim, punitive, incidental, or consequential damages, including attorneys’ fees, other than entrant’s actual out-of-pocket expenses (e.g. costs associated with entering), and entrant further waives all rights to have damages multiplied or increased. Contest is void where prohibited by law. Entrants agree that the decisions of Sponsor and the judges related to the Contest are final.
WINNERS’ LIST. After the winners are confirmed, the winner’s names will be posted here until December 31,2022.
