PartyRock for Educators is a free AI fluency platform by Amazon Web Services that enables educators to teach AI literacy in a hands-on and engaging way, for learners aged 13+.

Designed for classroom formats, workshops, and hackathons, PartyRock gives learners with no prior experience a setup-free, hands-on environment to learn AI by building with AI.

Privacy-Friendly

Login-free student accounts, all data deleted after event ends

Ready to Use

Only needs a single Educator account and web browser access for students.

Cross-Disciplinary

Learners work backwards from challenges relevant to their curriculum and interests. Project-based learning in subjects ranging from sustainability, healthcare, and finance to science, languages, and social studies

How PartyRock Works for Educators

With PartyRock, educators can create project-based events with up to 1,000 login-free student accounts. Students simply join via a code and start building, no account needed. The 45-minute module “AI Everywhere” classroom module is best for up to 30 students working in groups.

Setup is seamless: All educators need is a free PartyRock Educator account. Launching new challenges or learning modules is fully self service.
Students need access to a web browser. They can share laptops or handheld devices in groups.

What Can Learners Do with PartyRock?

Project-Based Learning

Students can use PartyRock to develop their own AI applications across disciplines including entrepreneurship, humanities, design, STEM, and more. PartyRock challenges connect learners to real-world problems relevant to their curriculum and interests. Learners design AI flows where they experiment with models, prompts, and parameters, work with real datasets to showcase AI-informed critical thinking, and exercise product thinking by building a working application from concept through to a shareable result.

Session format:

Introduction - The facilitator introduces the challenge
Build - Learners work in parallel or in teams to create their solution
Showcase - Learners present what they built and discuss their approach

This structure works whether you have 30 minutes or 3 hours and requires no prior AI knowledge from the educator. A hands-on, creative introduction to AI literacy, ideal for project days, clubs, workshops, hackathons, and longer-term formats.

Interactive Classroom Game: “AI Everywhere”

For educators who want a guided, time-boxed format with no preparation needed, PartyRock offers one introductory classroom module.
“AI Everywhere” - A 45-minute hands-on session built for day one of an AI unit in a classroom. The interactive format allows a class to explore where AI shows up in their lives, find real examples of how it works in future careers they are interested in, then use their findings to share with classmates.

Session format:

Guided game - A facilitator leads the class through the module in 45 minutes
Team exploration - Students work in teams on their devices, exploring a profession via an AI chat
Reflection - Students build a quiz from their findings to demonstrate when to trust AI, and when not to

Note: This module is currently in beta. Additional modules are in development.
